Brooklyn-based Saxophonist and Composer Jonathan Reisin presents his new project “Unreality”. Throughout a new set of compositions by Reisin, the group presents a high level of musical craftsmanship, complexity, beauty, and creativity. Each piece represents a thoughtful idea that creates a dynamic soundscape that echoes the unpredictability of our world. The idea had been developing for almost two years until Reisin finally moved to Brooklyn and reconnected with his long-time friends from college, pianist Shinya Lin and drummer Jarred Chase, for this new project. What tied them together as a band is the way they share the idea of sound exploration and the way they share space. Lin and his deep understanding of preparing the piano, Chase and his dynamic way of playing the drums, and Reisin with his unique approach to saxophone are blurring the boundaries of their instruments.
