Potions Trio
Introducing the Potions Trio, a captivating improvisational jazz ensemble with a remarkable musical chemistry. The trio consists of South Korean bassist Jeong Lim Yang, Korean-Canadian-American vocalist Yoon Sun Choi, and Portuguese guitarist André Matos. Their dynamic range and mutual support make every performance a mesmerizing sonic journey. Yang brings a bold bass sound and impressive experience, including her award-winning 2017 debut album, Déjà vu. Matos, a versatile guitarist, creates original songs and landscapes using traditional guitar sounds and effects manipulation. Choi, an improvising vocalist and pianist, contributes a wide range of vocals and has worked with renowned artists, performing at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall. Despite being together for less than six months, the Potions Trio has quickly established a cohesive sound, enchanting listeners and exploring new avenues of jazz expression.

Moritz/Ali/Costa
Sean Ali, Jonathan Moritz and Carlo Costa have been playing together since 2013 in a variety of projects. Since 2017 the three have been performing as a collective trio and over time have honed a distinctive band sound. One of the primary pursuits of the band is to inhabit and explore the acoustic space they perform in. The trio generally never utilizes any amplification and more often than not performs in DIY spaces that are not meant for concerts. By establishing a fragile yet palpable atmosphere the band activates the space and gradually draws the audience into its pool of sound.
