Josh Sinton’s Predicate presents “4 freedoms,” a work celebrating the creative and political implications of African-American counterpoint. Begun in 2020, Sinton concentrated on the compositional innovations of Ellington, Braxton, Hemphill, Hill and Threadgill to craft a work that allows each of the musicians to fully realize themselves while celebrating their togetherness.
